>>20235058>TR comes back in a big wayHaving run a Trick Room team in this format I can safely say that it only takes one creative player to make a commanding top cut. It's definitely effective in this format but the rules of Trick Room have changed and not enough players are simply adapting properly.
Last few online tournaments I've made a top cut myself and only reason I didn't gun for Nationals/Worlds was because I had real life stuff to take of so couldn't make them. Hell I even ended up facing a bunch of pretty recognizable names online and beat most of them.
>Germany has perhaps the scariest players going into this tournament, with Markus Stadter in particular being a name to look out forI don't know about Germans taking it but I'll agree Markus is a top seed. When I said I've personally beaten a bunch of well regarded players, I know that I was humbled by this guy online at least.
One thing else I'll say which having talked about with some other VGC players is that it's agreed we may actually see some no names making top cut this year. The competition is much more fierce now due to the game being more accessible this gen. A lot of top players have been underperforming this year but it's more likely there is more new blood now who have ousted them.
