Yes. Since Freeze Dry converts a Water type's Ice resistance into a weakness. All Water types that are neutral to Ice due to Water typing take 4x damage from the attack.

Fire/Ground Mega Typhlosion all the way. It's a devastating offensive typing when in the hands of a blisteringly fast pokemon. Now all we have to day is pray Camerupt gets a different kind of Mega in ORAS.

Water/Water.
Built in Adaptability for Water moves, 4x weak to Grass and Electric with 4x resistance to Fire and Ice. Sheer Force replaced with something nice and sexy like Strong Jaw or Swift Swim. Or Adaptability for 4x powered aqua jets.

Adaptability or Swift Swim would be cool and make sence. Strong Jaw while it would make sense, it only has 2 moves to abuse it. Well, thecnically it has 3, but who runs both bite and crunch at the same time

Pure water is a great typing by itself. Only weak to Electric and the Uncommom Grass type, nice resistances to Water/Ice/Fire/Steel while having a great attacking STAB

Best and most likely would be something like Water/Dragon with Tough Claws.

Nobody is speaking about gen 4 or Torterra in general right now. And no smartass, the first three generations will close those "sweet patterns" I'm reffering to. It's not like it has to be a never ending circle or something like that. Especially not with gen 4 and gen 6 that have starters with good matching dual typings even without possible megas.
