Clyde is only on the team solely because of the ridiculous amount of HMs that Mt. Coronet needs to be fully scaled, and due to being my only capture capable of learning Rock Climb, Surf, Strength and Rock Smash, so there's that. Powered through the remaining Galactic Grunts, and I'm standing before Jupiter and Mars. After that...Cyrus, for the last time.

Could be where my run ends, as I'm going into this with a degree of trepidation, but it's all or nothing. Hoping for the best.

Continuing some more of Pokemon Vega, the moonrune hack with english translation for menus/moves/items only. It's pretty fucking hard, first gym had a new bug/rock with rollout and a curse shuckle, and the entire first route only had mons weak to rock.

So, i'm beginning an ultraviolet nuzlocke.

My rules :

-One pokémon per route, one try
-Nickname every mon (when i don't stupidly forget to)
-I can only use items I found or ones given to me
-I can buy 10 regular pokéballs per mart, no more, nothing else
-Every fainted pokémon goes to the graveyard
-I can sacrifice two mons to revive one from the graveyard. The sacrified mons are released so they can't be brought back.

And that's pretty much it.

Also, this hack allows to catch yourself your first mon in some area instead of picking a regular starter. It's in a safari fashion and I'll do this, so don't be surprised if my starter isn't a regular one.

Well, I kept it this way.
After a little grinding, I went kick Indicks' ass.
That pidgey is a monster, it almost killed Daisy if it wasn't for charm.
I had to use a potion but I switched for Dad to battle Charmander after it got paralysed thanks to Daisy's static.
At this point, luck was on my side since I could spam leer during Charmander was crippled by paralysis.
And I killed it with scratch.

That's it for today, I may continue tomorrow if some people are interested.

Thought I'd do a Pokemon Y Nuzlocke as I've been bored with competitive play on my copy of X, and don't feel like emulating any other games. Pic is current progress.

Currently I'm working on leveling up a bit before Ambrette Town (Yes, the Exp Share is off, I forgot to put that in the rules), and money grinding in the Chateau.

I do have a question though. Supposing I can keep Muramasa (Honedge) alive for the majority of the game, should I evolve it to Aegislash or use Eviolite Doublade? Both seem like they could be interesting choices but I'm not sure what to go with.

When I started with Fennekin, I had a much harder time cause Braxien a shit that doesn't get any good moves until it's a Delphox.

Of course, that's just me, but I definitely think Fennekin makes the game more challenging. at least until it becomes a delphox.

Lost Lucia in Victory Road :( Muk decided to miss all his moves in a wild double battle with two gurdurrs and one gurdurr was more than happy to get a crit on Lucia with stone edge. I really should have switched to Royce instead, that was pretty stupid of me.

I wanna do a solo run of a game, thinking X maybe.
I have gotten tired of Nuzlockes (done so many already), mono-types, etc, but I enjoy solo runs. If I do a solo of X, who should it be? previous solo runs I've done:
fire red: Kingler, Pinsir
emerald: Jigglypuff, Jumpluff
Platinum: Delibird (hellishly difficult, forced to hack to beat the first gym)

B2 challenge mode might also be a thing, but it's easier and more convenient to do X.
So again, any suggestions?

Minor update on progress, but I'll be without internet this weekend so I'll have a bigger update for when I get back.

Anyways, nothing new really happened. I money grinded a bit more in the Chateau and then spent almost all of it on TMs, caught Shenron and Bacon the Spoink (Timid), reached Ambrette Town, went to the cave, caught Vector the Sandile (Mild) and Macho Man the Machop (Jolly). Beat Team Flare and headed back to Ambrette.

I have some more questions though. I have both the Claw Fossil and the Old Amber, but I can only pick one to revive as I'm counting that as my Pokemon for Ambrette Town. Which would be more useful in the long run, Aerodactyl or Tyrantrum?

I'm also going to rework the team a little bit and I don't know who to replace. I want to at least keep Firefox and Gamagori on the team. But I also want to bring in either of the fossils and my Jolly Machop. Any advice on what to do and who to replace?

So, I went to the Viridian Forest and met and caught Weedle, the first male mon I caught, so his name is Firstmale. I also encountered a second shiny, a Weedle, that I caught, name Revenge because of that lost shiny Pidgey, and boxed forever. I waved at Raikou, because it's here because I don't know, and grinded my team to level 10 before facing Brock.
Daisy the Pichu was my lead so I could lower Geodude's attack with charm, and sweep it with Dad the Mankey without danger.
Then, Onix came in the battle, I used Low kick, Dad almost died, I had to use a potion, and killed Onix with a second Low Kick.
And I won my first Badge.

Not exactly a tough battle, but not piss easy.

But god DAMN. I was sorely under prepared for fighting Grant. His first Pokemon critical OHKO'd my Machop. I took him down with Honedge and then switched to Axew for experience when he sent Tyrunt out. Switched back to Honedge which was killed by Bite. Switched to Aerodactly which was killed by Rock Throw. It became a stalling match between Wartortle and Tyrunt and I had to Withdraw every other turn.

That's three deaths from a gym I expected to be easy. Had to dip into the box to restock the team, which is now Braixen, Wortortle, Axew, Binacle, and Eevee (which I'm gonna backtrack to Lumiose to get Jolteon).

Emerald, only catch the first mon in each area (unless I already have it), fainted = dead, set battles, nicknames, no legendaries, unrestricted items/Pokémon Centers. Not sure yet if I allow boxing/swapping team members or recatching if a mon is dead...

I forgot to take screenshots, though, so in text form:

Lost 13 friends along the way a lot of them for stupid mistakes ;_; and was barely able to scrape a team together out of the remaining shitmons that people throw up into wondertrade.
I managed to keep both the mon I traded my starter for (a Dunsparce, which stayed mostly in the box), and the mon I traded my first catch for, (A ferroseed -> thorn, which managed to solo 5 gym leaders on its own and was the anchor that leveled my elite four conquering team when every other at level mon died on victory road).
Was a lot of fun, the exp boost helps when trying to replace fallen bros and got me a wider range of mons than I normally would get normally nuzlocking without the stupid shit that happens with randomizer runs.
Shame I couldn't nickname anything though.

Gonna breed a bunch of decent mons and send them out to wonder trade as a way of giving back to make up for all the random trash named "Wonderlocke" I sent out there.

After beating Brock, I made my way to Cerulean.
I encountered a Fearow I named Anotherbrd on route 3 and a Paras I named Bugshroom in Mt Moon.
Mt Moon was kinda hard, I had to go back to the center a lot of times to avoid death of my mons.

Bugshroom was the one who was the closest to die, because of his lack of moves and its weaknesses.
I managed to beat the nerd to grab both of the fossils since this hack allows me to do so (I'll still have to choose which one I'll revive).
When I finally saw the light, I encountered another Spearow on route 4 and named it Birdagain.

I grinded my team a bit for the battle against Indicks.
Daisy was my lead and I started with charm, but Pidgetto spammed Sand Attack, so I kept missing it.
When I was lucky enough to hit it with Thundershock, it wasn't enough to kill it, and I switched to Menstratio.
Quick-Attack did the job, and Indicks sent Charmander. I used Hyper Fang but Charmander almost killed Menstratio, so I sent Dad.
I was lucky that Charmander missed one of its attacks because Dad would've died, but I managed to kill it with Karate Chop.
The next opponent was Abra, so I sent Bugshroom because this one was piss easy.

After sweeping the nugget bridge, I encountered an Abra who fled on route 24.
On route 25, I encountered another Abra, who also fled. I wanted an Abra, fuck.
Route 25 traners were really hard, I had to heal my team between each fight, but luck was on my side and everybody survived and Notshiny even evolved.
But the most surprising is just after I got the SS Ticket.

In this hack, entering Leo's machine leads you to a new area where you can catch a mothefucking level 7 Mew.
I caught it, named it Pink, and it's now boxed forever.

I trained my whole team to level 19, and Daisy finally evolved in Pikachu.
And I challenged Misty.

Hardest fight so far, Menstratio got killed in only one Water Pulse from Starmie.
Luckily, Bugshroom managed to paralyse this monster and kill it with Life Leech.
RIP Menstratio...

Yes that's the dupe clause. Any pokemon that you've previously caught, This can include full evolution lines, You can skip an go onto the next catch. Some people add to it and say only give themselves 3 chances to catch a new mon after a duped one has been encountered. For me it depends on the game. 5th gen I usually give myself 5 retries after a dupe encounter. And yes it's 5 because I've ran into like 12 Patrat's in a fucking row before.

Caught Moneycat the Meowth on route 5, Weed the Oddish on route 6 and Fish the Magikarp in Vermilion.
Some girl in the city allowed me to travel to an island, where i caught Bromeleon the Keckleon.
After these events, I decide to use Moneycat to replace Menstratio, and made him train to reach the same level as the other team members.
I went on route 11 where I caught another Spearow (Stillabird) and battled every trainer.
I also caught a Diglett in the Diglett's Cave and named her Holymoley.
Then, I went on the SS Anne, and battled Indicks.
This battle was a lot less hard than the previous one, but still not that easy, Notshiny almost died to Raticate (1HP) and Moneycat and Dad managed Kadabra and Charmeleon.
The biggest treat was Charmeleon.
After this, I decided to in-game trade Anotherbrd, my first Spearow, for a Farfetch'd named Ch'ding. (Am I even allowed to do this ?)
Since I got Cut, I decided to explore a little that island where I went before.
I found a village where pokémon fighting is prohibited.
They don't have a center, just a mart which sells some old balls.
During my exploration, I caught a Seviper named Venom in a place called Dread Mountain.
Inside the mountain, I caught Muscles, a Makuhita.
I didn't explore this part more, the wild mons here being a real threat, and went to the other side of the village.
I found a forest where I caught Bugglina the Illumise.

I didn't give a fuck and went anyway, caught a Poochyena named Hyenahaha, and decided to leave.
With Cut, I decided to go grab Flash, And since I was here, I wanted to pay a visit to Oak.
And I encountered another shiny Pidgey. What the Fuck. I caught it and boxed forever.
After this, I went back to Vermilion, grinded a little to make my team level 24 and Bugshroom evolved into Parasect.
I challenged Surge, but the battle was kinda easy. Bugshroom did all the work, resisting electric moves.
The only threat was Raichu, which paralysed Bugshroom and spammed double team.
But Poison Powder managed to hit, and time did the job.
Anyway, I'm starting to love this hack.

Updating, after finally beating motherfucking Misty, who had me on my seat's edge for the entire battle. Seriously, a combo of Water Pulse and Thunder Wave is complete bullshit. After grinding a bit, and getting the ape to learn Dig, Lt. Surge was piss easy, but had to use berries, or else Raichu could have done some serious wreckage. I'm really happy no one has kicked the bucket yet.
