Same game, G/S/C, but that little space with the three trainers where you surf left of the daycare before Goldenrod. I always figured it was kind of a secret base and always saved there.

Not exactly a place where I like the save, but Skyarrow Bridge has to be my favorite place to chill.
It's got good music, and you can just see so much around there. It's pretty good for egg hatching too if you're only doing 5 or less where you wouldn't have to keep going back to the daycare center. When I first played Black I managed to avoid a great amount of the leaks and Jap footage, so I didn't entirely know what the game looked like, and when I got here, I was pretty blown away by the graphics and atmosphere. The only non Nintendo system I had at the time was a PSP, unless you count my old PC which was pretty bad. Still think Skyarrow Bridge looks great though.

tl;dr, Skyarrow Bridge is a cool place

It was like that in HGSS though, that if we ignore the safari (not full wild IMO)
honestly, the fact that this line had its "own" dedicated place like the Dragon's Den makes it more special to catch; unlike in the first gen where you could only get them in the safari I think

just checked it and it happens that both places (the pond and the den) have the same ratios when fishing with the same rods in GSC.. curious: I've always thought (since I discovered that you could find them in that route back in Crystal) that that pond was under-connected with the Den somehow

The fact they were only in one place in the first and you had to trek there at least gave them some mythology. Added to the fact you couldn't battle them in order to catch them and more had to hope

Route 10 in BW. Nice music, pretty little stream. Just feels like a positive place to be.

The inside of Pinwheel forest too. Both remind me of places I used to play in as a kid, especially the forest.

also some tiny spot with a berry tree and flowers on the ground (i think) in GS but I couldn't find it on the world map and I never played HGSS so my memory is not fresh.

this was one of the darkest forests ever made in the series, the first time I got in I thought it was suddenly night
I can easily imagine how dense the treetops had to be, kind of lame how they ruined the atmosphere in HGSS as it wasn't as gloomy.
