All those past bannings (Mega Mom, Mega Ghost, Mega Doge, Aegislash, Baton Pass, etc.) were all leading up to this. The ban of all Fairy types in OU to allow the return of the button. We could have stopped this. You could have stopped this.

If it's found to be bad for the metagame, it gets banned. I don't see why this is a bad thing. Maybe it's because I don't get very attached to the things I use in competitive that I simply don't care if something gets banned when it's obviously broken. I used Deo-D and I loved it, but I recognized that it was cancerous and needed to go. I think a lot of people that play on simulators feel this way too.

Considering Thundurus mostly serves as a support threat instead of an offensive one I can see it being pushed back. The only thing that makes it more than just a fast Electric mon is prankster taunt/twave. I'm not saying it isn't cancerous, but there isn't a lot to discuss unlike with Mawile and CharX. People really like talking about offensive threats since their impact is easy to quantify with calcs.

Fucking really? It's my favorite mega (and I'll use it anyway so I'm just arguing about the idea) but it's slow as shit, it can't take a hit from 2 of the most common attacking types and you can smell the sucker punch from miles away. I run one under trick room and it's very fun. but I almost always have to either switch or suicide-sucker-punch when TR ends.

SubPunch is its best set. If it gets a Substitute up (which it very likely will since Steel/Fairy is the absolute best defensive typing in the game and there isn't much that wants to risk staying in on something with such absurd attack) it can cushion itself from both status and flinched Focus Punches. So since you can't attack it because of the threat from Sucker Punch, and you can status it because of Sub, what can you do? Stall it out? Nope, because Play Rough/Iron Head or Focus Punch will put an end to that.

Mawile is way better than the credit you're giving it. It's an S rank in viability for a very good reason.

If they really wanted Charizard gone, Thundurus getting banned first also makes that easier since priority t-wave is such a good back-up plan to stop its sweep. I know they won't really accept the "priority twave to stop a sweeper" excuse but it might frustrate people in the suspect test enough to actually just vote pro-ban.

It can't get a sub up on Magcargo thanks to Lava Plume, but if it gets a sub up on anything it could scare out Focus Punch OHKOs. Also, unless you get a burn with Lava Plume, it can easily outpace and kill Magcargo with Iron Head.
