Honestly, I was the only player who top cut Manchester who actually WANTED to be on the stream as far as I've heard. I really don't think it matters too much.
As it is, the only information on my team online is what Pokémon it had, and two NB reports specifying like two of my moves.

Certainly, but it's not as easy or as mainstream as before. Not for free either, you have to invest some big bucks to do it. It's a problem but nowhere as big as it was during Gen 4 and specially Gen 5.

for ludi, you wanna max out special attack, you could probably just max out HP and be fine. you should run assault vest or life orb, either way its not gonna take too many physical hits. you could invest a little speed to creep other ludi. lapras, you could customize its spread a bit. EV to tank certain attacks, its all up to you.

I would guess rain happened. Even though the turn 1 mega happens after a politoed lead, most good players would just switch in their toed later on, and generally it's hard to keep sun up. Combine that with having a 4x weakness and its speed which nowadays is only average, and it's kind of awkward to play a lot of the time.

There were still two of them in the top 32 in US nationals, one in the top 16 in Germany, three in top 16 in UK, and two in the top 4 in Italy (which is as far as the data goes for those countries), so it's still one of the most common megas, it just isn't Kangaskhan.

it has fallen out of usage big time though, I think people realized how bad the zard/venu lead was because it relied on the haxy sleep powder to be effective. also, kang can OHKO zard with return for free whereas zard can only KO kang if it uses overheat, dropping its sp atk two stages. having this kind of match up with the most popular mega is an issue, plus all the rock slide in the meta

Yeah, whilst Lapras can beat Rotom-W (you shouldn't be using Lapras if it ain't AssVest anyway) there is no way in hell you'll one shot it.

Hell you'll be lucky to 3HKO it because of most packing a Sitrus berry and 252 S.Atk Modest Freeze Dry doing only a little over 52% on 252 S.Def Calm Rotom-W enough for a 2HKO.

Relying on Overheat for the kill is nothing to do with it, one of the current most popular ways to take out Khan is just straight up D-Meteor it with Specs Hydreigon.

The issue was more that it comes down to a speed tie in the end and if there is one thing you don't want to leave to a 50/50 coin flip it's Khan.

At least Hydreigon whilst it gets outsped can usually survive an attack which Char-Y really can't.

It does rely on you reading the opponent but the payoff is good enough many are willing to take the risk.

Scarf Hydreigon is honestly a non-threat unless you rely too much on speedy sweepers. It's not strong enough to kill bulkier stuff outright and that makes it even more vulnerable to anything which could take on Specsdreigon defensively.

Basically they were everywhere, fit every team and always did something and shut down a lot of teams which weren't built to plain outright steamroll everything. It made for a hyper offensive game where every team was weak to Trick Room because nothing else was viable except beatdown.

Thoughts on Pachirisu in VGC? I recently bred and trained one for fun and here's what I've noticed so far:

Pros:
>Follow Me
>Redirection isn't blocked by Safety Goggles
>FM works well w/ Volt Absorb
>Speed control through Nuzzle
>Nuzzle can be used through Taunt and does some damage
>Opponents don't always know what to expect
>Ion Deluge is great when it works

Cons:
>Not as bulky as Amoongus
>Paralysis isn't as good as Sleep
>Ion Deluge is pretty gimmicky, along with Pachirisu as a whole
>Doesn't have potential as a TR counter
>No offensive presence outside of Super Fang
>Can't do anything to Garchomp and other Ground types with EQ
>Generally isn't too hard to play around

Overall, I find it a fun choice to use, but am not sure how viable I'd rank it. Maybe if there are Tutors in ORAS it'll gain a niche in Helping Hand.

if you want a fun flying type, try jumpluff. I hate playing with sleep so my moveset was just encore/helping hand/rage powder/protect @yache. great partner for garchomp, its the only HH user that's airborne in the meta

That does sound pretty good, Infiltrator Sleep sounds pretty hard to pass up, but I hate dealing w/ Sleep Powder's accuracy (or that of <80 accuracy moves in general). I've had some luck using Miltank as my HH pokemon. Eats up physical hits for days, can heal itself, packs Speed control w/ Thunder Wave, along with having good abilities and Seismic Toss for _some_ damage.

Ashton doesn't consistently Top Cut and he hasn't won a National like Wolfe has. That being said, I definitely enjoyed watching his Nat matches this year and look forward to seeing him do well in the future.

I'm not saying that Ashton is bad by any means, just that he's too new to the scene for me to consider as "consistent." While Wolfe has had a rough two years---and possibly many more to follow---at least he has two years of history plus many before that of doing well. It's possible that Wolfe will continue to miss Top Cuts and Ashton will continue to perform as well if not better than he did at Nats this year, in which case I will definitely agree with you. His Heliolisk may very well be the new Exeggutor. That being said, I wouldn't completely count Wolfe out of it. His match during the US-Germany Friendly gave me some hope in him as I was really impressed to see him turn that game 2 around.

I'll also point out that while both are great at running unusual sets and doing well with them (Ashton possibly even more so), Wolfe's the only player I know who is able to make gimmicky sets like >>20294768 which actually work well against very good players in a best of 3 scenario.

I know you're trolling but it's a lot easier to see things that he could have done differently in hindsight when watching game 1 of a best of 3 against such an unexpected strategy. And while Talkinglion no doubt did start to play around this gimmick, Wolfe is very good at keeping control of a battle and his team held more tricks than this one match revealed.
