Favorite headcannons or theories? I've been on a Creepypasta kick lately, so those too.
The standard "You killed Gary's Ratticate" to more obscure ones. My friend told me about one of his favorites, Voltorbs are Ghastly possessed Pokeballs, other wise why would they sacrifice themselves so willingly.

Also, realistic/epic art.

I came up with a little headcannon to explain Scyther. Their blades start out very bone like, but something drives them to get a very iron rich diet, and the iron seeps into their carapaces and boney arm blades. The blades metal over first, and as they age, their shells turn, and it slowly oxidizes, giving it a redish hue (Scizor)

My pokemon headcannon is that Kanto is the furthest from the pokemon origin spot and Ash/Us has slowly been moving closer to the birth place of all pokemon.

Why?
Well migration patterns.
Most pokemon species stayed close to their origin spot. That's why as Ash/we move closer we see more species. As we move closer we also see newer versions of old species because the new ones we see have had to evolve in a more competitive environment. IE. Clefable in Kalos have had to live with FAR more species of dragons competing for the same food and resources so they adapt fairy typing to deal with the greater number of dragons in Kalos compared to Kanto.
As we push further to new regions in new gens we will see more evolutions as pokemon have had to adapt even further in harsher competitive climates.
This is kinda supported by the fact that in early pokemon storys Kanto had regular animals. Some promo stuff had regular dogs and fish along pokemon. So as pokemon migrated outward they pushed away regular animals as your average Bunny couldn't compete with flamethrower shooting bunnies and flaming dogs.

I'm sure everyone assumes this one but: Male Kangaskhans are Cubones. There is something in the shape of the male that kills the mother in childbirth, and leaves the baby Cubone with an under developed skull. They need to take their mothers otherwise their soft and squishy one would cave in on the first hit. Eventually it fuses to their head and face and becomes part of them (Hence Marrowak and the "nobody has ever seen its face thing)

I'm working on a Pokemonster Hunter table top game for some friends, so we've been trying to add some realistic touches. Here's one I have for Machoke.
Also, the belts on Machokes are an external organ, calloused and hard on the outside, but on the inside have their testosterone and adrenaline glands. Also, they have a secondary pectoral muscle that goes from upper chest, down to that belt, to give more force on downward punches.

Fossil pokemon are rock type because the superpredators of their time were fire, flying and poison. The rock type was merely a defensive adaptation.

my headcanon is different, fossil pokemon are only adopt rock type after being resurrected from fossils, a side-effect from the restoration. original typings were all minus the rock type.
