Whatever happened to plain old evolution? Did they do away with it after gen 4 or something? Lanturn would be a good candidate for new evo.

while if we go for the evolution the risk of being a shitty design is smaller as most megas just get "edgy-enhanced"
and even if the evolution is shit we would have a 125 HP Lanturn with two different absorb abilities to whom eviolite now can give +300 defenses

..so yeah, let's go for the mega! Nobody remembers evolutions anymore now, lol

I agree that lanturn could use a boost, but I'd be afraid of an evolution to it introduced now. Lanturn has a nice simple but effective design to it, it'd be a shame if they ruined it.

YOOOO i used lanturn during the june internationals and i fucked so much people oveer with it. my ev spread helped toobut volt absorb was annoying for them common rotoms and even manetrics. Plus i kinda choice scarfed it and i had a special trick for it (soak) to help my ampahros take out unexpected danger. But choice scarf lanturn was shitting on common OU for vgc mons left right and center.

What are dragon types. scarfed icebeam, discharge, scald. this bugger put in so much work. i had to use him cause he's a fav or mine.

I always use Lanturn. Volt Absorb gives it a niche from Rotom-W as it easily handles most Electric types like Thundurus, Zapdos, Jolteon and Manectric as well as things like Talonflame. Heal Bell's pretty good too. Don't know about 6v6, but on Battle Spot 3v3 it's been pretty reliable for me.

The cross-gen evolutions seen in 4 were so terrible they went back to the drawing board and came up with megas. If Rhydon hadn't got an evolution, it would probably have a mega with solid rock, or maybe we'd have a surfing rhydon with storm drain.
