smogon is making an attempt to structure the metagame in a way so all pokes can come out and play.
Or then there is a general shitty disposition in life.
When I found out my fav Golem was in NU i could have gotten all angry about how people were shitting on my favorite mon but instead I was happy my lightweight was fighting other lightweights not heavyweights
my only issue with the structuring of smogon is that it gets boring and repetitive pretty quick
variety and ingenuity are really fun but when OU is running the same 20 pokes with the majority having 1-3 of the same stuff on all teams it just becomes bland and heartless
My fix for this would be to use the already provided leveling mechanic and just ban the NO FUN strategies
don't ban mega mom just lower the level
awe man now I can't play with a super cool ghost sword? lower the level instead
now you have a meta with so much variety
