my waifu is minami (pic related) but her arc was fine. the only legitimate complaint is maybe the length of it, but the more you condense shit like that the less impact it has, and it tends to feel spastic.
so what if they didn't develop other characters much? all you people bitch about is "wasted potential" rather than the actual content of the arc. it was interesting and had some of the best battles in the series. who cares what character it focused on? nobody bitched about the mega evo special being about a different set of characters. this was an arc about a side character, with the main characters tagging along so they could learn about megas.
it wasn't even about korrina as much as mega evolution, which wasn't really shown in as much detail. it was to show the whole process from start to finish with all the shit that could go wrong. if anything, with how fucking broken they make megas look, showing korrina's weaknesses will make ash's victory more believable.
it was entertaining and that's all that fucking matters. i can't even believe people acting like korrina is the worst character in the same series as fucking iris and cameron.

Compare that to Mary Sue Serena. She gets a shoehorned ship for Ash without any effort. She doesn't know how to ride Rhyhorn yet she doesn't practice later on and somehow can do Grand Theft Rhyhorn in the movie. Her Fennekin just learns all the movies without her training it. Her Fennekin knows how to battle without training it. Even when she is shown to have flaws, it's never portrayed in a negative light.
