I have X and Y, Y is set to French
I breed two penta parents in X, bank them to Y, hatch a new penta of either gender, send it back to X with the opposite gender'd parent used to get it and that way I have 90% egg generation.
I hatched 10 shinies without the charm, but recently got it and hatched one so far.

Also just recently hatched scraggy on Thursday.

Storytime..

Rather than wasting time doing 5 eggs at a time hatching up at Lumiose, I fill two boxes full of zorua eggs which takes a bit of time. I did this for arbok as well and I just got lucky grabbing random groups of eggs from the boxes.

The first group of 5 zorua eggs in the first box I filled up had the shiny in it. The other 2 boxes I filled up were basically useless..

I have a 6IV Japanese Ditto from a giveaway a while back.
I usually only go for 5IV unless a 6IV pops out first.

The grinding to me, is a challenge given how short my attention span is and normally can only do a couple boxes before growing bored. Personal value matters to me obviously, seeing as I don't use things I haven't bred. The way I see it, the eventual Shiny is still mine and I've still worked for it, just admittedly not as hard.

Considering 99.9% of hexflawless ditto are hacked (or RNG abused, but that's probably the minority) because the chance of getting a hexflawless ditto(not including the shiny chance) is 32^6 which is 1 in 1,073,741,824.

You can easily find people who breed pent-perfect or even hex parents who play the foreign carts in Wifi General. I had most of these pokemon before bank even got released in Japan. I just find it incredibly lazy given how easy breeding is now, and this is coming from someone who actually RNG abused several sets of ditto in Gen 5 on both my imported Japanese game and English game. I never even sent them up with bank.

Unless of course, you're doing genderless or male only. Then by all means use the dittos and I won't even blink my eyes at it.

I post on wifi general all the time. Every single one of my offerings has been bred with a hacked jap ditto. You might actually registered on the autistic spectrum if you think that breeding out fucking perfects with just a 6iv ditto is lazy. You still have to climb from 0Iv (or 2 if in FS) to 5.

Even if you start with a penta HA female and just want to breed extras, it's 10% to get a perfect offspring. That's two full trips on the bike simulator or about 20 minutes of gametime wasted

Alright, I know how to shiny hunt, chain, etc. Have to ask though, is there any spot on Kalos Route 10 that works with the shiny chaining method? I can't find anywhere that fits the "uninterrupted 4x4 square" description and I'm aiming to chain a shiny Hawlucha.

So how stressful is Shiny Hunting for you guys?

The breeding seems tedius, the failures are heartbreaking and even if you get the shiny you want you worry about if it has the right nature, IV's or gender.

At least that's how I view it. I still haven't owned a Shiny that I wanted.

In my shiny hunt, I finally got my 6IV Gastly! Still no shiny, but I was glad to see a 6IV (and I have about a dozen penta-perfects now....). Still going for the shiny!
