>>20315680>Most moderators will only shut down discussion when it's off topic. This is fucking bullshit. Haunter shoots down EVERYTHING that he doesn't like, even if it is rational, on-topic discussion.
kokoloko doesn't do something so blatant, but as soon as you get him out of his comfort zone with a discussion, he'll wipe it. Both of them have done this several fucking times.
There are TWO focal problems with smogon that are going to be its own demise if not attended in the near future:
1. Misinformed people is gaining more and more ground, and NO ONE is doing anything to reduce it and/or instruct people to a point that they're more informed of the tiers and how to use all of them at their favor (even in OU; whatever the fuck happened to the "tutor" programs they always boasted about!?). More people with less grasp of how things SHOULD work is getting voting reqs by only using certain teams, and eventually, if not already, will outnumber and outclass those who know...to the point that we will see even talonflame or any other shit getting to suspects.
2. FUCKING. TIME. The games have...what? 9-10 months now? It's been less than a year, there hasn't been enough time to let all the metagame settle down, and with ORAS coming, there will be another metagame shft with move tutors and new megas.
With less and less time to 'let the dust settle', and Gamefreak throwing more and more things to the fray, they shouldn't have started to suspect and ban in the first place or at least not that fast. They should had suspended the suspects until AFTER ORAS, so that they had enough time to actually see how the metagame develops with these new things and then try to accomodate things with a broader perspective.
>inb4 "it doesn't take time to a metagame to settle"The fuck are you smoking? OF COURSE IT TAKES TIME! Time that they aren't allowing to actually happen.
