Hello /vp/

I visited this board for the first time last month and learned more than I ever wanted to know about Pokemon. I played Gen I and II as a kid (born in 1990) and absolutely loved these games.

I was blissfully unaware of STAB, IVs, stat reductions due to status effects, and much more. I just played with my favorites, and it was awesome.

I grew up after Gen II and never played Pokemon past Crystal. But I found my old GBA recently and picked up Crystal again for beautiful, sweet, nostalgia. I thought I'd look into the metagame since I never did that as a kid and I was blown away by it.

I don't even want to play anymore. I was seriously thinking about playing Gen III but nope, too much too much. I wish I never heard of Smogon, although it was interesting seeing how the meta played out.

Plus some of the pokemon are stupid as shit now. A keychain? A toaster/washing machine? Fuck.
