I'm going through Super Secret so I can get duskstones from the Aegislash Balloon. Not sure how I'll bother with EV training when I get around to making a competitive team.

There's no reason at all that AXBY can't by a second d-pad in this mode so left handed people don't have an issue.

I had this same problem with the Combat mode in Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Having to use the D pad with left and stylus with right hand. The game was unplayable with buttons + dpad.

Just horde train, it's ridiculously easy
If you've got Pokerus, it only takes like 10-15 minutes, if not less

that's defintely faster than dicking around with a balloon shooting soccer balls at you for 10-15 seconds while going through the balloon blowing up and flying away animations, not to mention the rewards screen.

rain is a son of a bitch though, fuck the guy who thought sweet scent failing in rain was a good idea.

Super Training is useful for fine tuning EVs. Most good EV spreads have one stat maxed out, then the other 256 spread out between several stats. 252/252/4 is for scrubs.

How? Even with Pokerus and Macho Brace, it should be 20 per encounter (5 EVs standard, doubled to 10 for Pokerus, doubled to 20 for Macho Brace).

Still faster than Super Training, though.

Pokerus doubles their effect to 8, Macho Brace would add 10 with Pokerus.

Let's say you're training on something that gives 1EV
With a Macho Brace, you get 2EVs from each one (2x1), doubled up to 4EVs with Pokérus.
With a power item, you get 5IVs from each one (4+1), doubled up to 10EVs with Pokérus.
