I started at 8, just went through the series a bit of a twisted route (8>7>6>11>12>9 blah blah blah), that really hyped me up and impressed me for the series just in time to hear about FE13. Hell, I played through the Advance Wars series for most of my life, so I didn't think I'd love FE as much as I did. So, when I finally got the game, bam, I was pretty excited, had a lot of hopes for it.
Had nice music, had nice graphics.
The story, "strategy" and fanbase left a really bad taste in my mouth. I mean, FE4 had minmaxing, so I somewhat shrugged it off, but, christ.
