on the subject of emulators, I think they're a great way to play games that are difficult if not impossible to find original carts of for an affordable price. If it's a game still being sold, I'd probably only pirate it if the company was well off. Let's face it, games are priced so companies can make a profit. However if it was an indie game, I'd prefer to support the developers by purchasing it because many times these smaller companies barely break even.
btw, give XY a try, if you don't like megas, you'll be happy to know they account for 1% of the story gameplay
