They weren't taking any actual damage from the heat, but there were no openings to exploit either. It'd be up to the Fire users, or anyone else who could resist the flames, to save the day.
Goku, Mike's Infernape, screeched at the Ninetales that had tried to mind blast him. Slamming one fist into the ground, the fire monkey wasn't using an Earthquake like his flaming avian counterpart; instead, he called forth a Stone Edge, aiming directly for the vulpine opponent's underbelly.
Samus, Mike's Blaziken, had managed to regroup with the team without difficulty. She was clearly exhausted, unfit to return to combat until she'd either rested or gotten medical treatment. For now, it was best to let the one who could best handle combat take over.
