Old red doesn't look cooler IMO but the redesign is one of the better ones in the serier.
Old red looks more determined and OP. I like his jacket better and his hat. His jeans do look dated as well as the shoes.

Old red looks cooler IMO. Not that new red is a bad redesign. He certainly is one of the better ones (I'm looking at you Ethan).
Old Red:
Pros:
-More determined looking
-Cooler, classier hat
-Better jacket
Cons:
-True blue jeans look silly
-Shoes

New Red:
Pros:
-Nothing criminally wrong
-Better color sense
-Better shoes
-Better jean color(while still not perfect)
Cons:
-Brown hair (subjective)
