This is the biggest bullshit. Sure, I don't celebrate Tanabata or even know much about it, but why should that stop the rest of the world from reviving it? They could add a snip-it of info on the wonder card, and anyone can Google 'Tanabata' to find out more.

These things are the reason the events are being distributed. As Serebii said, only one building in Japan is holding the Shiny Jirachi, as is the case with most Japanese events, yet all people do is generalize and say "Japan gets everything".
