I wouldn't mind seeing a region based on Canada, with big cities and a massive frontier to explore.

For game mechanics, I would probably suggest an overall power drop for really broken things, or at least keeping all of the stuff like legendaries, pseudos, and megas for the post-game. Also making hidden abilities baseline so certain mons can actually be useful without having to catch them in a horde/in the friend safari.

My only suggestions is that HMs are now just inherent abilities that a pokemon can use if they can learn the move and you have the badge.

I'd want a setting that deals with time travel. That would let the game show all sorts of awesome areas ranging from the ancient orient to the wild west to the future.

As far as features go...

I'd want features that add deeper relationships with your Pokemon. The game is always stressing about the bond between Pokemon, but I've never felt it. If they could somehow re-create the bonds that are shown in the anime, I'd be downright happy.

Humans used to marry Pokemon. I'd like to see that ethical can of worms opened because that kind of shit floats my boat. Inter-species relationships are the best. That's one of the reasons I lived on Mass Effect.

Pacific ocean, start with surf and surf through 100% of the game, nothing but water based pokemon. No dive, no waterfall, just surf through everything. You'd run into colonists, vikings, pirates and the sort.

It was stated that back then, humans and Pokemon were equal. Maybe all Pokemon have experienced a regression similar to Kyogre and Groudon. Many Pokemon show that they're clearly as intelligent as humans. Look at Slowking for example.

I think it'd be cool to step out of a time machine into an ancient village where Pokemon and Human are one and the same.

I thought of the Mass Effect races more as reskinned fantasy races. The Asari were obviously elves, the Krogan were like orcs, and the Turians were almost like dwarves but with more of a military bend. The tertiary races were more interesting even though they didn't get as much screen time.

As a game, the overworld would have a lot of sandbox elements, and the pokemon battles would be live combat with elements of Super Smash Bros. and (franchise) vs. Capcom.
The design would be largely faithful to Sugimori's illustrations/drafts.
Gamefreak has enough money, and Giovanni has enough lore, to pull it off.

Heh... imagine a Planet of the Apes like scenario where suddenly Pokemon get a small boost and become the dominant species. If they could figure out how to avoid being captured in Pokeballs, they could take over the world.

A game where you are a Professor and have to research Pokémon not by battling but by taming them, finding out what food they like and stuff like that.
Sometimes Pokémon would run away as soon as they see you and you have to find a way to get close to them by just standing still for a few moments or setting up traps. Some may attack you and you have to sneak around them.

Would probably be boring as shit though.

Lots of Ice types, lots of Norse mythology based pokemon.
The version legends would be based on Níðhöggr and Veðrfölnir with Ratatoskr filling Zygarde's position.

It would be a really harsh landscape so you would need lots of various HMs to navigate it.
Pokemon would have some non-battle usable HM move slots to make up for this.
