Just got myself a Powersave and I'm looking for advice on how to use it both for myself and for the community.

First, I know I'm able to shiny/unshiny, change the ball, and gender of the Pokemon; however, I'm wondering if there are any negative effects or complications that could arise from doing these. Particularly the gender changing because I've had changing genders crash games in the past.

I'm aware that shinying the Pokemon will make it a "traded" Pokemon. It changes the Secret ID, correct? But leaves the original trainer and regular Trainer ID? Does changing the ball do the same? Or even the gender?

What are the motions powersavers here on /vp/ go through to help others modify their Pokemon? What is the process they use?

Most importantly, what are the risks?
