Gen IV pretty much. When I was even more of a faggot than I am now, when DP came out, I was just looking for an excuse to hate something and decided all gen iv pokemon sucked with a few exceptions. Later I realized that this was stupid and I now really like most of them, and I never let a few bad ones ruin a gen because that kind of categorical thinking is retarded

I had a general hatred for bw until I actually bought it. I played through and realized that not all of the pokemon sucked ass, and the story was actually really good.

My initial reaction was "are you fucking serious? A keychain?" But it's one of my favorites now. Just a ton of goddamn fun to play with and the design grows on you. Here's hoping it gets some horrifying new toys in ORAS move tutor.

They definitely made druddigon too quintessentially "Dragon." It's like they weren't even trying but they needed a dragon to fill some aspect our to fill some sort of quota. I really thought it was kinda cool at first bit now it just bugs me how cliche it is.

I despised it so much I didn't let my Scraggy evolve in my first black playthrough. Got all the way to Ghetsis and kept losing to him, so I decided to let Scraggy evolve.
Best decision ever. Those new Hi Jump Kicks came in handy. Now it's one of my favorites.

I skipped gen 4 and was really biased against some of the designs but Magnezone stood out as terrible to me for some reason. That all changed when I played Black 2 and took the Magnemite I picked up for Roxie's gym and proceeded to wreck nearly the whole game with it.

I used to hate encountering geodudes in damn near every cave. It also didn't help that I usually massacre hordes of them with my grass and water pokemon.

For some reason I decided to give the geodude line a try in fire red and I was caught off guard by how good in game it was. So long as you weren't fighting grass or water it did great against other pokemon with it's decent attack and great physical defense that made it one of my heavy hitters in game made golem one of my favorite pokemon to use.

It's a shame his weaknesses are extremely common competitively; I would have enjoyed using him on my team if he wasn't such a liability.
