If GameFreak wanted a Pokemon to get a Mega Evolution, it would get one regardless of whatever else received one.

Don't be upset because even though more megas haven't been revealed, you know a bunch are still gonna be in. Secret Megas will be exciting to find. Also Lopunny's inclusion confirms more than just Gen 3 Pokemon will get Megas, and Lopunny really kind of needed a Mega anyway.

As far as the Megas go:

-Mega Altaria seems like a discount Mega Garvedoir. It will have much better bulk, but more weaknesses and its movepool will be pretty meh in comparison. Not sure how useful it will be unless the stat distribution will be good. Its design is also kinda boring.

-Mega Salamence is going to be a goddamn beast. Aerilate works really well with him and it will more or less be a gigantic boost more then anything. Its design is also pretty awesome.

-Mega Lopunny...is meh sad to say. Scrappy is useful in certain situations, but I was hoping for Huge Power or something a little more...eh. Normal/Fighting is also a pretty shitty pairing and will give it 4 total weaknesses. Its design is pretty cute, but not all that different or interesting.

Overall, 1 really awesome one, 1 that may or may not be usable depending on stats, and one that I think will never be used.

Normal/Fighting with scrappy is an excellent offensive typing. It already has great likely speed and will get even more along with attack. Plus, its movepool lets it make great use of all that.

It resists: Electric, Fire, Water, Grass, Bug, Dark and Fighting while being immune to Dragon and previously immune to Ground. The only notable weaknesses it has are Ice and Fairy. Poison and Steel are still shitty attacking types.
