Why are there so many coniferous trees? Isn't Hoenn supposed to be a tropical region?

I think you might need to repeat grade school. All the land areas in Hoenn are clearly temperate (excluding the desert, etc.) and not at all tropical.

Would have loved a new lebanon cedar or marine pine eh...but those are just "trees" for Game Freak only tiles, I think they rarely care about details.
