Save Megaevos for the three-stage lines or for Pokémon that don't really have anywhere to go evolution-wise like Tropius, for others give standard evolutions.

Megas are only good for fully evolved pokemon or currently overpowered 2-evolution pokemon.

For pokemon that need regular evolutions, it's a bummer because you have to choose between megas

And imagine how much better they'll be now that they can get megas ON TOP of those evolutions instead of getting one per team form changes on the previous shitty stage.

Basically everything that didn't fall under this design category turned out well:

>Yanmega
>Gliscor

It doesn't help that the evolution methods were becoming just plain obscure:

>trade with an item specific to that pokemon and nothing else

I think mega evolutions are generally on a completely higher plane when taking a pokemon and developing its concept/design than any normal evolution. That said, I would like to see new regular evolutions for older mons as well
