It was never the wings that made Salamence look awkward, it was the body. I actually prefer how it looks now, it doesn't look so much like a fat blob with tiny wings.

Potential sala moveset

Dragon Dancer @ salamancite
Evs:252 atk, 252 sp, 4 hp
Adamant/Naughty
-dragon dance
-double edge/return
-fire blast/hydro pump
-dragon claw/outrage

Double edge will be primary STAB being one of the strongest attacks in the game. Return can be used for more survivability. Fire blast for scizor, Ferro. Hydro pump for mega chars and smogon bird. Dragon claw is mandatory STAB and has great coverage with fire blast. Outrage for more power

I wouldve made a more mixed ev spread but with the buff due to his mega form, I'm assuming he won't need all those evs. A mixed pure attacking set would be next on my list

Hydro Pump is not going to be all that useful against either Charizard, X is part dragon making the Dragon move super effective and Y has drought weakening Hydro Pump to the point where you may as well just hit Return for more damage.

unless you're going with a rain team, don't bother with Hydro pump, fire is a much better coverage and also nail Skarm.

EQ is also an option for Heatran and Tyranitar

But you're right, fire blast is probably good enough, I can't think of any mons besides talonsmog and volcorocorona that take hydro pump for SE damage of the top of my head. Oh wait, heatran. I forgot heatran walls this set to hell and back, thats why I slashed hydro

Hell dragons in general are rare in OU with maybe one per team, 2 at most.

Besides what moves does he have that make use of Aerialite?
