Pixilate is a strong offensive ability and Fairy is one of the best offensive types.If anything you'd run EQ over Dragon Claw for perfect coverage on Steel and Poison.

Think of it as a much better D-Nite without Extremespeed.

Are you kidding? Adding Fairy removes one of Dragon's weaknesses, gets many useful resistances and only adds Poison and Steel weaknesses (and those types are still irrelevant)

Set up one Cotton Guard and Bullet Punch will be doing shit, and Altaria gets fire moves to pick.

Gardevoir has always been run offensively so that obviously wouldnt change with a mega but Altaria however has always been a garbage mon offensively. And with 70 base offenses it would need boosts close to the level of Mewtwo X's to actually be a potent threat like Mega Pinisr, Garde and other offensive megas.

I'm going by the history of megas. The biggest stat increase has been Mewtwo X with like +80 in Attack. And around a 70 - 80 boost is what it would need to be decent. Normal megas usually only get about a 50 increase or less. So unless you think GF likes Altaria as much as Mewtwo, don't expect this thing to be that powerful.

So apparently we may be able to predict future evolutions/megas by updates to movelists now. Altaria already got Moonblast this generation, and Ampharos got Dragon Pulse this gen just for its mega(though obviously not as useful because its mega debuted in the same game.) Have any other pokemon gotten any new moves seemingly out of nowhere?

Kecleon is already every type. It got Protean, you tardo. Shadow Sneak is just to give it more options to use along with that, and because it can blend in with its surroundings and sneak up on niggas.
