Most fan-made megas are garbage because they don't have a defining feature, most of them are literally "it just gets spikier" and in Lopunny's case it's "it just gets fluffier."

pyramids: most of the megas have a defining feature that either builds upon what the base form had (Mawile, Kanga, Alakazam) or just adds a feature (Medicham, Sheep.) Exceptions like Aerodactyl exist, in that "it just gets spikes" but for the most part they all have distinct features. Most fan-made mega evos do not, they just make the base form more overdesigned.
