>>20402328the main thing with stall is that you NEED to have a great team to start. smogon is invaluable for this, but also you need to test your team on your own, find a flow, and, more importantly, find what beats your team. i used to have skarm on my team before i kept getting shit on by bisharp and m mawhile, and skarm was my defogger, so i swapped skarm for gliscor and kept defog on it, but i couldn't use poison heal. stall is the one team where odd gimmicks work a lot of the time because sometimes you just need that one move to help you beat your sole threat.
another bit of advice is: don't try to predict all that much if you don't need to. if your opponent is really good and playing balance or ho, they will need to predict hella good to beat a well-assembled stall team; use this to your advantage. make obvious plays, never be afraid to click softboiled or roost, you're not getting pp stalled anytime soon. if there's no hazards on your side and there's some on theirs, you're fine, just get a bunch of little damage here and there and make sure you identify their threats and your win condition.
