Golem was a massive bro in HGSS. I caught a Geodude while trying to get an Onix, so that I could have a Steelix for Whitney's gym, but Geodude ended up doing most of the work for that badge anyway and subsequently took Steelix's spot.
In Diamond, Gastrodon and Roserade are huge bros as well, you can fucking stomp the elite four with them if you have an Infernape to hand as well.
In White, Darmanitan is a great bro, as is Krookodile, I remember storming through most Team Plasma fights with just moxie Krook.
