Starters, Eevees, Lucario, etc. are predominantly male to assure that breeding them is harder and thus they are less common/more difficult to obtain.
People draw things like Braixen, Delphox or Blaziken as their furry waifus without complaining about how little females their offspring produces, which makes me wonder what makes Gardevoir so different aside from Gallade's existence as an alternative path.
