Tyrantrum and Regirock. Rhyperior and Eviolite Rhydon. Any physically bulky Rock-type makes Talonflame its bitch, it's just that it's not a great typing in OU.

55/85 is kinda shit, but it can switch into any of its STABs and OHKO with Power Gem

I think Mega Evolutions were a good idea and would like more of them.
People wouldn't play a game where all 721 Pokemon were the same viably.
Mega Evolutions were balanced for 4v4 Double Battles and the various simulators like Smogon need to start changing mechanics, BSTs and movepools in order for the balance they are looking for.

Smogon custom servers. Or even, if possible, a Smogon-related hackrom, but that would only be for Gen 5 and below, which would be pointless.
