Is it possible to catch every Pokemon (Excluding trip ups like events or starters) without playing any "duplicate" games? Like, could you make up for the ones you missed by playing FireRed instead of LeafGreen by playing SoulSilver?

Do you count games like Platinum as replicates of Diamond and Pearl? Because if so, not possible, unless you can catch Glameow or Skuntank in ORAS.

Got them all today for the first time. So it is possible. But it wasnt easy. I used pearl, heartgold, white, white 2, emerald, black 2, and Y in that order. Lots of trading later I got my Arceus today, and I'm finally done. Took me about 3 years because I got so tired of the chase after a while.

If you are playing by yourself it is impossible to get all the Pokemon without Pearl since that is the only game to ever have Glameow in it.

So, does anyone have a list of the most optimal collection of games?

From this thread, we can take Pearl to be the "starting block" and take all other game choices from there. Dream World is non-existent now.
