Define Trade? Between two concurrent emulators you can simulate a gba link cable, but with an actual game you can't.

If you want to transfer things up, get a DPPt ROM up, go to the transfer spot, and make sure the appropriate Gen 3 rom is inserted in the emulator itself and get them from there. Then trade the mons in DPPt to a legitimate copy, PokeTransfer, PokeBank

It is possible.
I'm using MyBoy on my Android phone and I've successfully traded between versions.
The fun part is you can trade with yourself if you have no friends.

I downloaded this version specifically for trading between my gen 3 ROMs, it probably lets you trade with others online but I haven't tried that...
