One hypothesis for why humans are relatively hairless compared to other apes is because we didn't groom ourselves well enough to the point that being parasite-ridden made hair a greater disadvantage than advantage and was selected against.

I read a short essay on why menstruation is so awful in humans--the author hypothesized that it may be because, in humans, the placenta is a fucking monster.
