smogon is fighting a battle it cannot win; every generation the singles ban list grows more because smogon are the only people who still give a damn
yet smogon doesn't admit that 1. their main formats basically aren't "simulations" anymore and 2. trying to create a good game if your only tool is the banhammer cannot fix the underlying problems because that is not how game design works
