She might have 600 BST but she's complete shit because of her terrible stat distribution, movepool as well as mediocre ability and type.
Mega Diancie on the other hand looks like a legitimate threat and will probably see use in OU.

Bullshit. The "1 mega per battle" restriction is because the programmers are lazy as shit.
These are the guys who couldn't be bothered to code HP fairy for fuck's sake.
I hope they'll get rid of this incredibly arbitrary and outright dumb restriction in Gen 7, so the underused megas will get a chance to shine.

Many megas don't see the light of the day in OU and end up in the lower tiers merely because of the "1 mega per team" restriction.
If it wasn't the case stuff like M-Ampharos and M-Houndoom would probably be OU.

Heatran and the Genies can't cover all threats at once since they have very common weaknesses, so you'd still need other non-megas like Excadrill or Ferrothorn or whatever.

Sally, TTar, and Chomp got megas because all pseudos will. This was planned from the beginning of megas, even before the majority of Pokemon that now have them were ever planned to have Megas. Same with Metagross and the eventual Dragonite mega. Also the Kanto Starters were just the forerunners for mega starters, since they're popular due to Gen1 pandering. In time, Gen 2 and 4 starters will get megas. And once gen 5 starts getting them, expect the starters and Hydreigon to get them almost immediately.

I also expect Mega Kyurem to happen, and it would be the Original Dragon, formed by fusing the God Stone, White Stone, and Black Stone into Kyuremite.

Balance wasn't totally ignored there, since it's a defensive Mega that resists Dark, Ghost, Fire, and Flying. It's also the only Rock-type Mega that concentrates on Defense.
