Yellow has nostalgia and has aged better than Red/Blue, while with Platinum I poured in a fuckton of hours raising teams for the battle frontier and participating in the online trading/battling communities, plus the story mode was kinda challenging which is way more than you can say for all the other Pokemon games. Only real downside was that you needed two HM slaves to get any where.
