While ORAS is confirmed to be a remake, the chances of it being a fully faithful remake are diminishing with every passing day.

It's safe to assume that there may be a possibility of certain gyms/gym leaders being completely redone (Winona has the Altaria issue now, and the Juan-Wallace final gym issue has not yet been cleared).
So basically, we're getting an almost completely different game for sure. Thank god.
