Consider the following:

Floatzel is a pure water-type NU Shitmon with paper thin defences but good speed.
Luvdisc is a pure water-type NU Shitmon with paper thin defences but good speed.

Wouldn't the game be so much better if Luvdisc were actually comparable to Floatzel?
