>>20446029Walking Pokemon slowed the game down for me when you're healing at the Pokemon center. There's a few extra seconds spent showing the Pokemon go into and out of its ball, where otherwise it would be faster without walking Pokemon.
It reminds me of the dialogue while warping between terminals in SMT IV. When you enter a terminal, Burroughs has a dialogue box and voice clip telling you which terminal it is "This is the new/Ueno/Sky terminal" and asks you what you want to do. Click through that to be able to choose where you want to warp to, and Burroughs has another dialogue box saying "Activating transpot mode" to click through. Skip the warp animation by pressing X. When you get there, it shows an animation of your character falling out of the warp, and Burroughs says "we're here" in one box, and then "What do you want to do" in another. All of this when you're speeding through takes like 5 seconds and a bunch of extra button presses, but it adds nothing an annoyance to warping, especially since you get a decently long black screen when you exit that's obviously the game loading the area.
You end up warping a lot in SMT IV, just like how you heal your Pokemon a lot. Adding unnecessary length to that mindless process only makes the game slower, if only a little bit. Little nitpicks like these build up very fast though.
