The Deo forms weren't broken, they just did their jobs far too well. Deo-D laughed at anything that wanted to stop it from getting hazards up while being perfect bait for pivot switches. Deo-S could revenge kill almost as well as Talonflame and could get screens up easier than anything has the right to in OU. Azelf is decent at getting dual screens up, but it's still afraid of faster mons and anything that can hit it for SE damage. Deo-S was bulkier, faster, and could come in later in the game while Azelf is usually played as a suicide lead.
