flavor-wise, it should be SE against psychic because noise breaks concentration, and SE against ICE because accoustics/reverberation = shattered ice/cause of avalanches

but of course nerfing those two types further won't work. Still, it makes more sense than arbitrarily making it resistant to fairy, fighting and fire (WTF is the logic behind that?)

Basis is that they're wild and run on instinct, and thus a little predictable. Attacks are unfocused so anything 'hard' enough would resist it, while 'soft' targets will probably suffer more.

Bite, Crunch, Slash, Fury Swipes, Crush Claw and the like will be retyped to Feral, among others, and wild-looking mons such as Fearow, Ursaring would be retyped or gain feral as a subtype.

being shut down by poison specifically has more to do with how normal wild animals freak out at the warning colors of venomous animals, and their shutting down fairies and dark types has to do with how wild animals can see through deception.

It would make sense for them to be weak to fire or be resisted by fire but fire has too many resistances and strengths as it is.

The type relationships should be retooled a bit though, didn't think too hard for it.

You could make a number of cases for anything. Sound is incredibly muffled in snow so making it SE on Abomasnow and stuff wouldn't make any sense.

Psychics resist it for the exact same reasons Psychic is NVE on Steel or Fighting is SE on Steel/Rock/Ice

Could even be weak to poison due to poisons being a recurring theme in operas.
Could be strong on Dragon due to bards and muses of old times being the best party members to soothe the savage beasts.

Really though, Ice needs a boost defensively, offensively it's one of the best types, defensively the 1.5x boost from STAB isn't even worth it since you only resist ice and any water type could toss on ice beam and do your job better.

Half the type is about being Zen. Being able to ignore some screeching bat thing is entirely fine to justify psychic resisting sound as much as it makes sense for sound to disrupt psychic concentration.

Most things don't have the brute force to break/shatter steel/rock/ice but the epitome of fighting type has enough power to do that.
Most things lose their concentration thanks to sound, but the epitome of psychic type has enough of a calm mind to ignore that

My point was that you could justify OP's thoughts with anything because even the current Pokemon's typings as they stand could be justified with anything. 90% of them are still made up and don't make any sense and could easily go the other way around or be changed at any time just arbitrarily.

Hell you could literally even use most of those that you said to justify changing typings. People have been wanting poison SE on Water for the longest time. Or Poison having something to show off Acid Rain.

Can you actually give me a reason why lightningbolts, which cause forest fires and usually strike trees for being tall, can't actually be a reason that electric type should be super effective on grass? The logic behind it is sound, and other games even have Lightning as part of fire, which means it beats nature/leaf type.

My line of thinking is that wood would represent the "natural" world, and as such, normality would lead to the logical exclusion of fairy tales and ghost stories. Wood is also used to build homes, keeping people sheltered through snow, storms, and the dark. Fire obviously burns wood, and many people break boards as a test of strength, not to mention many bugs and birds dig into wood, and kill it from the inside to create homes for themselves.

I'd adjust it a bit. I think a mutual Dark <-> Light super effectiveness would be interesting.
