I remember trying it out in single player and getting bored immediately.
Playing online adds a whole dimension to it.
For me it's the only way to play.
Within days people built a lot of towns and cities, gyms, malls, safaris, routes, tunnels, aquariums, giant trees, boats, train rails and a bunch of other stuff.
And then, to top it all off, comes everything Pokemon, which is awesome, being able to play pokemon with /vp/eople in this survival sandbox is a lot of fun.

I'm home now though.

In conclusion everyone, I'm taking the $270 and gonna buy a pound of blow for before bed.

I finally got ahold of someone at the company and we're talking everything out now. It might be a bit before we increase RAM too much because I've gotta do a little trial and error with the server as we play.

Right now Ki is downloading the world file and putting it into a tool to trim chunks that have no player placed blocks in them to lighten the load. I'm trimming the fat on the server plugin-wise to see what fat we can cut to save some memory.

This part is important:
If you want to help out the server, whether poorfag or richfag and anything in between, install he IVs/EVs mod and Wondertrade so the server doesn't have to struggle doing it all serverside.

Welcome back.

I have to mention that once again it was incedo who helped us out and found that chunk trimming tool.

I'll add those to the installation pastebin.
But I've been thinking, should I just make an autoextractable file to automatically place them in the right folders? This'd include all the mods.

I'd prefer a bigger limit, but it's obvious that that's what's causing problems.

I think legendary Pokemon spawn in their biomes nearest to players, so unless everyone is hugging the edge of the map it should spawn in a reachable area.
Atleast that's how it's been with most of the legendary spawns so far. Kyogre always conveniently spawns in oceans bordering towns and Groudon spawned right inside 03jnb's gym that one time.

We're basically in the process of structuring towns, cities and gyms among other things, like the Safari Zone. Everybody has their own little project going on.
Basically you just log on, choose a start and do whatever you feel like. Craft some pokeballs, wander the different biomes and catch whatever pokemon you want that is currently in the mod, and build yourself a cozy little trainer home for you and your pokes to chill at.

You can battle like in the games, although it still needs work since this is an unfinished mod.
Everything works like it does in the game though, like with the moves as well as IVS/EVS/Natures and even the held items.
In addition to that you can send your whole team out and have them wander around (I like to let one of my pokemon follow me around most of the time) or you can use them as mounts.
There are land mounts, flying mounts and surfing/diving mounts, none of which need to know any sort of TM in order to use them as mounts.

It's basically just an extension. The regular monsters and pretty much gone(except for the occassionally spawner drifting in the depths of the earth) but you still need to go out digging for minerals and stuff. Iron is good for Pokeball crafting and Diamonds are good for Hammers for pokeball crafting as well as various tools added in the mod.
Plus you can find fossils and stuff out in the earth.
Also gold is used as a currency and in crafting some particular useful items.

There's also a reward for exploration as you can craft an itemfinder to find hidden loot out in the world, but with a limited map I imagine all of the treasure will be gone unless we can somehow manage to get it to randomly spawn/recreate itself over time.

I made a shitty little house that was just a wooden box on our first map, then after we wiped and started a new map I managed to make this fancy ass cabin.
To be honest it seemed like the entire server got way better at building on the second map. We went to dirt bridge routes to fancy ass wooden bridges and nice looking house.

I usually look at IRL buildings, distinguish their individual architectonic elements (windows, roof shapes, arches, etc.), abstract those by applying a grid pattern to them in my mind, and once I've got these down in Minecraft, I rearrange them into entire buildings with realistic proportions.

Don't try to force it. Yu start with shit, and over time develop small improvements in yur ability. Mine started with making buildings with the right kind of materials to look good, then went on to adding the little bits of detail like alcoves and shaped windows.

I prefer experimenting in-game, with a photo in the background.
Just look at a surface of a building, imagine overlaying a grid, and scale that grid up and down so that the elements of the building (like windows or slopes) fit neatly into it. Then try building that in-game.

The problem isn't that cracked versions can't play 3.2.3 in-general, it's just that for some reason the code prohibits the mod from working properly on a server set to offline mode, which is what we have to use in order for cracked clients to connect and play on a server with other people.
If we played on an online server it would work just fine, but cracked players wouldn't be able to connect and play.

The main problem that occurs in an offline server with pixelmon 3.2.3 is basically your own pokemon not being visible or mountable to yourself when you send them out.

Most of those bugs past the pokemon not being visible (like pokemon fainting after battle even though they won, or unbeatable bosses) had nothing to do with the anti-piracy thing, just a bad move on their part in releasing a untested beta. That was 3.2.2 though (which is what we tested that one day), and lot of the major bugs included the ones listed were fixed in 3.2.3 which came out last Friday.

Trimming chunks that have no player placed blocks in them. So the people that walked 40k+ in one direction and then back to spawn, we can clear the chunks that take up memory.

My best guess is that the tool generates the world virtually then compares the virgin chunks to our worlds, and removes ones that aren't modified.

Usually I just look on Google Images until I find a picture of a building that tickles my fancy. Then I keep the image open and remake the building as close a spossible in mineycrafta.

My house is about 500 blocks outside from the cutoff, and my flower forest biome is 100 outside it (flower forest biomes are usually small too, so that's pretty much cutting off the whole biome).

use /sethome <name> to designate up to 3

/home <name> or /home <1>,<2>,<3> will take you to that home

/delhome <name or #> removes that home and lets you rebind another one. If you delete 1 or 2, the higher number ones move down, so home 3 is now 2, etc.

I used to use it, the main problem was PEX and EssentialsChat. I don't remember a fix so I said fuck it and moved on and deleted it.

So if I'm not mistaken, 14000x14000 gives us about 196 000 000 square metres, or ~48 500 acres. That's equivalent to more than 36000 football fields (US) squeezed together. There can only be 54 people on the server at a time, and there's not all that many more when you add up everybody. How is this not enough space? Assuming the current server capacity and a full server, everyone on still gets ~672 football fields worth of space. How big are your fucking houses?

I'm pretty sure I've seen EssentialsChat and PEX work together before.

So the Trainer/Gym Leader/Elite 4/Champ/Rich Boy classes all have the basic commands and Mods/Admins have the mody/adminy perms, correct?
