There's a reason the games only ever show Gardevoir's face from a 3/4 perspective: head-on it looks kind of unnerving. In the anime and the manga Gardevoir has considerably more stark features and wide-seated eyes than in the fanart, looking more like an alien or a wraith than a human (probably on purpose). I'm guessing a lot of the waifuism surrounding this Pokemon comes from people not realizing how it actually looks.
