Kyogre draws inspiration from both the Glaugus Atlanticus and the Orca. No point in having a second Pokemon based on it when Kyogre already pretty closely resembles it (as far as Pokemon goes, at least).

very true, I never really noticed the similarities between the two. I always imagined a Glaucus- mon to be on a smaller scale overall but I can see your point.

Next one is a bit more plain but I think it could have some potential.

It wasn't a sea slug in any way shape or form.

A different Leaf-Tailed Gecko. I know they did Sceptile but it looks less like a gecko and more like a lizard or iguana.
I like the kind that look like soft bearded dudes.

I thought it was more based on a weasel than a possum - possums have rat-like tails while with a weasel, sometimes you can't tell where the tail begins

It was based on a weasel/ferret. A opossum would most likely be something like normal or dark or a cross between the two since they are nocturnal and notoriously moody animals, prone to biting rather viciously when unable to fool people by playing dead.
