Honestly, you're right in the "just don't use it thing". I don't have to use megas nor do I need to throw shit at those who like them.
But my main problem with them is that it seems like the pokemon that get a mega has less probabilities of getting an evolution, and in my opinion a normal evolution is always better because if you don't like it you still got your old bro plus now it can use eviolite.
On the other hand, those megas that got great designs will always hurt me in the thought they aren't "permanent" as the normal evos.
I guess that megas are like a way to avoid for some already "overpowered evos" to use items, but still..
