>>20479204Can't say much for Mega Garchomp, but I did have some success with Sub Garchomp paired with Scarf Special T-tar. Against an opposing Garchomp it looks like it'll come down to a speed tie, then suddenly T-tar outspeeds and OHKOs with Ice Beam and Garchomp gets behind a sub. Granted I used this strategy back when Garchomp was the most common VGC 'mon and Scarf Salamence wasn't nearly as common. I don't know how well this combo would work today.
On another note, does anyone have any predictions on which Pokemon will be big at Worlds (Outside of obvious things like Mega Khan and Aegislash)? I'm betting that Ferrothorn will make a comback as both Charizards have lost a lot of usage and Ferrothorn works well against both Khan and Rain teams.
I also want to see Scarf Machamp appear as a strong anti-meta choice. It's able to outspeed and Garchomp and Haban Salamence w/ Ice punch, Hydreigon, Jolly Khan (and most of the bulkier spreads), and Lucario (on the turn it Megas) with Dynamic Punch. Not to mention that it gets a guaranteed confusion on everything that is able to survive a hit. Obviously it's not the best choice and it definitely has its share of checks and counters (Talonflame in particular), but I think it'd see some value if anyone actually used it.
