Singles are cool, but hazzards are irritating for me since I don't like being forced to run a spinner or a hazzards lead myself. Doubles is where it's at, so many more mons become viable and you can create some crazy compositions. I rarely feel like I lost a doubles battle due to my pokemon being inferior stats wise, it's usually because my strategy wasn't played right.

Hazards aren't even that big a deal. Toxic spikes is useless and sometimes even helps your opponent's sweepers out if only one layer is present. Spikes is garbage and SR isn't as devastating as it used to be due to the sheer number of OHKO machines running around now as compared to DPPt.

It sounds like a really cool competition and will force people to use some under used Pokemon. I'm surprised more people aren't hyped about this, it's a lot more create than the Eevee/Pikachu or gotta go fast competitions.

Gamefreak hosts a lot of cool concept tournaments (no items one, for example), but that's just it. They're one-off tournaments that will never show up again in any relevant format.
