It allowed Swagplay to be so much of an annoying effective playstyle that Swagger was banned completely. Prankster is one of those abilities that makes NU shitmons usable in OU. Sableye would be at the bottom of PU if it didn't have Prankster. Thundurus would be a mildly effective fast electric OU mon without Prankster. Klefki is a decent screens/spikes setter with Twave thanks to Prankster.
Hell, Klefki is a great mon in ubers, and not just "oh it has a niche", it has a good amount of usage and is high on the viability ranks.
